The Ten Commandments

We are excited to present the Christian Martial Arts Ministry of the Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake. This Christ-centered ministry, devoid of the mysticism that is often equated with martial arts, has the two-fold purpose of introducing people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and encouraging their continued transformation into Christ-likeness. Students will be taught skills of self defense specifically through the art of Tae Kwon Do.

Tom Family Centered

One of the best aspecs of this ministry is that it is designed to invole the entire family. Moms and dads, boys and girls of ages six years and over are welcomed to join and get involved. The one-hour classes are held on Saturday mornings at 9:00am.

Christ Centered

Each class incldes a devotional time where the instructor and the students discuss Jesus Christ and His role in their lives and the relationship needed to have eternal life through the forgiveness of our sins and by the grace of God. Students are expected to memorize Scripture verses and the Ten Commandments for each promotion test. There is a corresponding Bible verse of each belt earned.

Discipline Centered

Among the many benefits of martial arts is the discipline demanded by the sort. This ministry teaches several aspects of a person's Christan development and mautity:

Cost

Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 45 students. This ministry is open both to people within the Evanglical Free Church as well as those within Crystal Lake and surrounding communites. Cost is $20 per month per student, with a maximum of $50 per month per family. No uniform is needed to bein. Participants are encouraged to comein flexible clothes and, if they desire so later, cn then purcahse thie own uniform.
